The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC is definitely a place that can be considered a home. It’s description is best given on its website, https://rmhenc.org
“The Ronald McDonald Houses of Eastern North Carolina provide a temporary home, support and access to medical care for families of children who are receiving treatment from area medical facilities.”
Personally, I experienced the stay at a RMH near where I lived growing up as a teen-ager. It provided for me and a parent while I underwent radiation treatment at the hospital nearby in a city near where I lived. Its workers and associates were considered family for as much as they assisted and related to those who stayed there. I certainly understood the same warm feelings which occupy the RMH in Greenville which I visited last week.
Director of Development Katie Ashby generously gave of her time and efforts to show me the somewhat recently renovated and more spacious RMH as well as share what the house means to those who are currently and have already stayed there. If you are needing such a facility or would like to donate or volunteer, contact them courtesy their website or their Facebook page above.
I would recommend it!
