Friday, June 11th, the City of Greenville and Greenville’s EMS/Fire Departments all came together to cook up their best chili to see who has the best.
This event was supposed to take place in the Five Points Plaza but due to the weather it had to be moved inside to the Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church (right, next door).
When I showed up the doors weren’t even open yet but the chili was ready to be served. There was plenty of seats available and crackers for dipping in the chili. It was very well set up with over 15 chili’s to try and give a score too. There were also plenty of sweet treats to bid on and win. The Mayor of Greenville was even there trying some chili himself.
The proceeds from the event will go and help the United Way of Pitt County.
