Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Dark Of Night…

Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Dark Of Night…

Earlier this week, I returned home from a late evening run to the grocery store. Noticed our mail carrier making his daily deliveries well past sunset. Asked him how he was doing to which he replied they were very busy at the post office due to a shortage of workers, a number of whom had been out due to illnesses.

We chatted for a few minutes then he departed to continue his shift, which was nearing the 14-hour time frame. He drove down the road shortly after 9 p.m.

For those who continue to work, many jobs have been made more difficult due to the pandemic, which is not anywhere near over. If not that, just everyday things we all experience from time to time can hold us back.

If you know someone to whom this is happening, say a kind word to help that person through the day. Please offer to do what you can, if anything, to make the burden less difficult. Say a prayer to the Lord above to offer strength and encouragement.

We’re all in this together

Jeff Hackett.
